Nobody wants to forget something, so we've put together this handy check list to help you. Follow this guide step by step to ensure your trip is as hassle free and enjoyable as possible. Experience teaches you a lot of things so we want to share what we've learned with you.

If there's something you feel we've forgotten, please feel free to drop us an email and we can get it added to the list.

1. Book Your Hotel

Our track is open from 6th - 10th March (inclusive), but you can get there as early and stay as long as you like. The Hotel Gran Bali the most popular choice and is where a lot of us stay. All inclusive is recommended. Wherever you choose to stay, we recommend checking the distance from the track as we can start quite early and you'll want to be able to get to the track in time to get set up for the day.

2. Book Your Flights

Alicante is the nearest airport to Benidorm at around 45mins driving away and most UK airports will fly direct. If you're watching your budget, then your local airport may not be the cheapest option. For example, some of our travellers found that flights for 3 people flying from Bristol were £200 dearer than flying from Gatwick airport.

3. Passports

It may seem obvious, but now would be a good time to make sure you know where your passports are and that they are in date for the duration of your stay. You will also require your passport to hire a transponder at the track or you will be subject to a £50 deposit (refundable upon returning the transponder).

4. Insurance (must include Track cover)

When booking your holiday insurance, you will need to ensure that it covers you for motorsport track days. There are many companies who will be able to offer you this cover, however, always make sure you read the fine print to make sure you're covered for hospital treatment fees, ambulance call outs and fatalities. We will try and compile a list of recommended companies soon. All UK riders MUST have an EHIC Card, the number must be included on the entry form.

5. Car Hire

You're going to need to get around while you're here, it's about a 45 minute drive to Benidorm from Alicante airport and you'll also need to get to and from the track to your hotel, do petrol runs, etc. Plus, having a hire car gives you freedom to travel around when you're not at the track.

6. Bike Transport

There are several pick up points after we set off from Scotland, a list of points will be available closer to the time of departure and these are updated as we go via Facebook. Follow our guidelines on the transport page for Minimoto’s. Bigger bikes (Gearbox) will be loaded individually, pitbikes will be leant against each other – you may want to use an old blanket or towel to stop bars or pegs rubbing. Kitbags for helmets and leathers are fine as these can go on the top. Make sure you label your boxes, stands and bags!

7. Currency

The Airport is the most expensive place to buy your Euros from and can be up to 10-15% dearer than the Post Office and other travel agents. It might also be worth keeping an eye on the current exchange rate and buying early if the price starts to drop.

Ofcourse, you can use your credit/debit card during your stay and you can withdraw Euro's from ATM's at the exchange rate at the time. However, you will need cash for payment at the track.

8. Parts and Spares

We will bringing a selection of spare parts and tyres for Minimotos and Pitbikes, but Metrakit parts will need to be brought with you. All parts must be paid for at the track in cash and we recommend bringing Sterling GBP as the price in Euros will be worked out on the buy back rate so will cost around 15% more. These can be booked and paid for in advance of the trip. When bringing your own spares and tools, please keep it to a minimum.

Remember that the boxes must be stackable. If you are thinking plastic boxes we recommend the “Really Useful” brand as they are quite tough and can survive the travelling, cheap ones often split losing half the contents, which nobody wants to happen.
